Three Day Gorilla Trekking Safari
Visit one of the richest ecosystems in Africa and trek to see gorillas! Prices are $1,050 per person.
Day 1: Travel to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
Today you will be picked up by our professional tour guide and driver from your accommodations in Kampala or Entebbe after which you embark on your journey to the famous Bwindi Impenetrable National Park on a journey that crosses the equator line. This park is famous for the rare mountain gorillas and the drive to the park is incredibly scenic, passing through various local villages and the lush green countryside & hills which characterize so much of southwestern Uganda.
Once you are in the park, it is one of the richest ecosystems in Africa and the diversity of species is a feature of the park. It provides habitat for some 120 species of mammals, 348 species of birds, 220 species of butterflies, 27 species of frogs, chameleons, geckos and many endangered species. Bwindi is also among the most diverse forests in East Africa, with more than 1,000 flowering plant species including 163 species of trees and 104 species of ferns.
Day 2: Gorilla Trekking
Today you go to track the rare mountain gorillas. After a briefing from your ranger guide you will begin tracking the mountain gorillas through the ancient Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. This can take a couple of hours or a whole day depending on the location of the apes. Keep an eye out for forest species such as buffaloes, elephants, black-fronted duikers and bushbucks.
It is a humbling experience to stand just meters from man’s distant cousins as they eat, rest, play and bond with their young. Follow the mountain gorillas as they range freely in the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest and discover their gorgeous natural habitat and the many species they share it with.
After a well-earned trip to the gorillas, you will retire to your accommodation for an overnight stay. You can rest your tired legs and have a restorative massage!
Day 3: Travel to Kampala/Entebbe
After breakfast, we drive back to Kampala with a stopover for lunch and to see the equator if you happen to have missed it on your first day of your trip. Your guide drops you back at your accommodation in Kampala or at Entebbe for your flight. Thank you for supporting Bright Safaris Uganda and the Bright Orphan Project! Have a safe journey back home and we hope to host you again.
